Photo Tips Anyone
with a digital camera can create a virtual tour using their own pictures.
If you follow our tips, your photos will come out beautifully.
- Set
your camera's resolution to 2 megapixels(MP). You'll have to go into
the camera's "menu" to do this.
- Start
with the front of the house and continue taking pictures in the order
that you would like them presented in your virtual tour. Be sure to
avoid shooting directly into the sun. It will create too much glare.
- Open
all window coverings and turn on every light. Using the flash is up
to you. In most rooms the automatic sensor in your camera will work
great. Be sure to review each photo on the camera to be sure the photo
isn't too dark. If it is re-shoot the room with the flash on. Try not
to shoot directly at windows, too much glare is not good.
- Photograph
each room from 2-3 different directions. Be sure to do this for the
front & the backyard too.
- When
photographing a room, back up as far as possible into the corners of
the room and keep the camera about chest high.
- Photographs
of mountain/valley views, local schools, parks, lakes, beaches, golf
courses and other recreational photos near a home can often make a virtual
tour even more interesting.
